Once again, the popularity of telemarketing lists is surging. Whether it be our business-to-consumer clients or our business-to-business clients, we have been experiencing a much higher demand for telemarketing lists. Of course, it is obvious that telemarketing is less expensive than direct mailing since postage costs have inflated over the past few years. However, what seems to be interesting to us as list brokers, is that we are seeing a shift back to telemarketing lists from email lists (for purposes of prospecting new clients). Sending emails can be even less expensive than paying agents or sales representatives to make cold calls, but based on recent trends, we are able to tell there must be value and profit through telemarketing lists. We find that many businesses are requesting telemarketing leads even when they are not even experienced with outbound telemarketing – and still finding it profitable.

It should be interesting to see if this trend continues through the holiday season, which is usually mainly a direct mailing season (when prospecting for new customers).
