If you buy telemarketing lists, you need to understand this Do Not Call list information. If you use telemarketing, it is your responsibility to stay up to date on federal Do Not Call list laws as well as the Do Not Call laws in each state you call. DON’T MISS THESE LINKS BELOW. Federal regulation prohibits telemarketing to individuals who have indicated that they do not wish to be solicited by telephone (see the Telephone Consumer Protection Act Of 1991).
Most states have discontinued individual Do Not Call programs, merging their information with the federal list. However there are a few states that continue to maintain separate Do Not Call lists, whose registrants may or may not be shared with the federal list.
